Kerouac Q&A Session

On The Road from New York to Des Moines to San Francisco

Hear the final installment of my series on Jack Kerouac. It’s the Q/A session that wrapped up the 2003 New College of California’s Celebration of the author’s work. It’s not long (13 minutes) but the audience’s questions unearth a range of items about the life and times of this great American author.

Most readers here are already aware that In Kerouac’s 1957 masterwork On The Road, our fair city rates a mention in Chapter 3 where, he notes, "the prettiest girls in the world live in Des Moines.”

I will be posting the entire evenings’ readings in video format in the very near future. Until then, settle back and savor a bit of Kerouac-osity by those who knew, loved and studied the work of this uniquely American author and literary innovator.

If you’re new here, here’s a link to the rest of the series. Make sure to avail yourselves of the transcription feature.

Stay tuned…much more to come.
