No worries Phil, those posting here know close up and personal what's at stake. From Iowa to Arizona to Montana to Cali....As Jill said "we beat him once, we'll do it again."
Good evening all. I was doing some commenting on another computer and didn't realize I wasn't signed in so.....pooof....no comments. Phil, you are correct that Dems for whatever reason don' t seem to rouse the message or the messengers to use the advantages they have. I think it's a tactical hangover from the Pelosi, Hoyer et. al. days.
Really, a kind of a smugness after Obama won. They (Big Dems®) thought they had it made.
For nearly 20-years, They allowed A.L.E.C. and KOCH an open field with virtually no opposition.
Biden was chair of Judiciary then … his apology to Ms. Hill was rather pathetic. I think he’s a good man, though his lack of leadership then haunts me, and millions of others.
Pathetic Indeed, but in this, his last lap around the track, I believe he's learned some real human lessons. Obama still has his ear. Doing something meaningful on women's rights will cement his legacy like Obama's ACA
Let it haunt you after Biden beats Trump. It’s my opinion that it’ll be close, although I hope not, and that every little grain of erosion engenders poison ivy. I’ve already lost friends over this. As was said in one of the wars, “Loose lips sink ships.” Democrats seem absolutely incapable of locking ranks, thinking that being right is better than winning. I honestly don’t get it. And as another TV voice from my era said, “Stifle yourself.” Yes, this is blunt. It’s also the truth.
My trust in the Court evaporated the moment Clarence Thomas joined it on October 23, 1991. It's only eroded further, if that's possible, with the 'hearings' where we all heard Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Alito, and Barrett perjure themselves (decribed as lawyerly phrasing) in order to appease and ensure their confirmation. That WAPO decided to ignore such partisanship was/is inexcusable ... and now routine for many outlets. Shameful.
I remember that moment too. Danforth brought him forward. Scary enough but those who knew him predicted the outcome we see today. Like Trump he hates everybody except those that curry favor. It only underscores how the lack of investigative reporting sabotaged by the ownership shenanigans outlined in the story leaves the field open for…well..(face palm)
Years ago, the NYT motto was "All the news that's fit to print." Now it's just "All the news that fits."
I think Mad magazine used to say “All the news that’s fits we print.”🤣
All kidding aside, between Thomas, Alito (and Roberts’s allowance of their shenanigans) we’ve got a big problem. Thanks for the comment.
