Simple Truth

Short story…..When I was in Sunday school in 1962 or thereabouts our Sunday School teacher one Norm Jensen loved to tell us “parables” of his own invention. He was a pretty good storyteller and had a knack for weaving amusing anecdotes that would still nudge us in the direction of being more dedicated adherents to the Golden Rule.

One Sunday, He told us about encountering a man who was sitting by the side of the road hitting himself with a hammer. (what?!!) Well, ol’ Norm had us wide-eyed at this strange story.

“You know,” said Norm “I went over to ask him why he was hitting himself.”

He looked up at me and said:

…..“Because It feels so good when I stop!”

I think Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are offering us an opportunity to put down the hammer.
