First Day of the rest of our Democracy dept.

The Polk County registrar’s office was the place to be this first morning of early voting in Des Moines. The temperature was low but spirits and enthusiasm were high as hundreds lined up as early as 6:45am to cast votes in this 2024 Presidential election.

There were lots of old and new friends (Kamron, Dierdre, Mary, Paula, and “Dr. Vote” the guy who’s usually first in line ) down here this morning. Members of the Des Moines Directors Council were there with cool shirts and warm friendships.

The best thing is that here in Polk County we can trust our local election office. Thanks, Des Moines and Polk County for a trustable election process.
